We took advantage of an opportunity at the very beginning of September to go to the Palmyra Temple. Some friends from our ward were going, and had asked if we'd be interested in doing a babysitting exchange at the temple so we could go in as couples. They have a sweet little six month old boy named Wyeth. We had Jarett all excited about going, and so we loaded up super early that Saturday morning to make the 4+ hour drive.
You all know by now how car rides tend to go in our family. This one was no exception, despite having borrowed a DVD player and packing way too many toys. The only way that this drive stood out among other whine-fests is that we learned decidedly of Jarett's tendency to get car sick. He threw up once on the way there and once on the way back. We're talkin' ALL OVER himself and his car seat. (gag) It's a good thing Camden had packed too many changes of clothes, or poor Jarett would've had to eat at Applebee's in nothin' but his undies.
After whining through most of the entire drive there, and about 3 minutes before we arrived at the temple, Jarett fell asleep.
We enjoyed lunch on the beautiful temple grounds in the warm sunshine.
We managed to let Wyeth get stung on the face by a grumpy, lone yellow jacket. I'm sure his parents can't wait to go to the temple with us again.
Camden and I did sealings together. It was beautiful and made the sacrifice worth it. We are so blessed to belong to each other forever.
