Family Bidness

This post is my attempt at recording the last nine or so weeks for posterity.

Event 1: Grandpa Henderson got to come visit for an afternoon when his job brought him this direction. It was such a treat to have impromptu visit from family! And Jarett was thrilled.

These pictures were taken not long after his visit. Sure wish I had exact dates, but I do know it was late August or early September.

Event 2: This one must have been taken soon after my gallbladder was removed. In fact, I think we shot this one to commemorate Miles' one month birthday, which was 3 days after surgery.
Event 3: Camden instituted Family Fun Night. We do this every Friday, and it features a family game or fun movie, as well as a giant bowl of air-popped popcorn.

Event 4: We attended the university's annual Bug Fair. It was WAY too crowded, but fantastic, especially for a girl like me who spent half her childhood staring at bugs. We took some awesome videos of some pretty nutty stuff, but I'm going to save those for a different post.

Event 4: Okay, this isn't really an event, but through delivering Miles and having surgery, we really had our eyes opened to how fabulous our ward is at church. We had soooooooo many people volunteering to help, bringing meals, offering to babysit, etc. Even several weeks after the fact, a sweet mom of 9 offered to keep Jarett for a morning. This is him as he was delivered to me that afternoon: an apple in one hand, and a half-eaten PBJ in the other, fast asleep.

Event 5: We went to the Apple Festival at Way Fruit Farm. We LOVE this place. They have the planet's best apple cider and apple cider donuts, but it's also just a fun place to hang out. During their apple festivals, they give free tractor rides to the pumpkin patch, where you can pick your own pumpkin(s). There are countless local craft vendors, selling all kinds of cool things, and fun things for kids to do. Here is Jarett on the way to the pumpkin patch. The apple in his hand he picked right from a tree, and the entire thing was eaten by the time we got to the pumpkins.

Event 6: Grandma and Grandpa Henderson and Camden's brother Corey came for a visit. They came to see/participate in Miles' baby blessing. They arrived late last Friday night and left early on Sunday afternoon. We had a blast staying up WAY past our bedtime, playing in the snow (!?!?!?!?!) that fell all day Saturday, eating Grandpa's gourmet cuisine, and watching Jarett get spoiled silly. We even got to watch Grandpa shake it playing the Wii.

Event 7: Miles received his baby blessing, which officially puts him on the records of our church. We took some family pictures right after church that day.
And here's the little man in all his 11 week glory.
