Jarett Says Goodbye

Jarett has a fascination with new things. He also loves to say hello to his parents when they get home from work. He will crawl at supersonic speeds to the door to greet us. Lately, he has started saying goodbye as well.

I'm so lonesome for family! I know I blog about nothing else, but sharing my baby with everyone makes us seem not quite so far from home. Hopefully you don't mind indulging me.

Last night I decided we needed a picture of the three of us. When I saw it I realized that (besides the Rickett's Glen hike that I have yet to blog about), this is the first family photo that has been taken since Jarett was one WEEK old. (That's a green bean on the right.)

A desperate attempt to catch up ensued.


I have to remind myself that one day we will have traditional, dare I say boring, family pictures where Jarett sits and smiles. For now, I can grin and bear it through the hair-eating.


Photographically a terrible picture, perhaps, but this is my very favorite. We are a happy family.

Seven Months

Jarett continues to amaze me with how much he is learning, and even more by how fast he is learning.



Yesterday he blew my mind with this.

Jarett loves Eclipse. Unfortunately for him, but fortunately for the cat, the feeling is not reciprocated. When Eclipse is around, the whole world stops so that Jarett can observe and talk to the cat. Sometimes we can convince the two to play together.
